Principal Scientist & I/c. Head
Division/Section:
Division of Natural Resources
Specialisation:
Soil Science
Qualification:
Ph.D
Research Accomplishments:

(During the Period of 2019-2023)

Developed integrated nutrient management module for guava under high density planting system.
Carbon (C) sequestration by mango orchards of Konkan region (Maharashtra, Goa and Karnataka) and C sequestration in mango orchards under different management quantified. Carbon sequestration of multiple variety and monocropped mango orchards quantified in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh.

Developed conservation horticulture technology to mitigate adverse effects of climate change in mango orchards.
Presently, I have been working on issues related to soil health and mitigation of climate change through conservation horticulture and carbon sequestration in perennial horticultural crops. Served as a Principal Investigator of the Revolving Fund Scheme on  ‘Soil, Plant and Irrigation water Analysis Services to Horticultural Crop Growers’ from 2016 to till date and providing the soil, plant/leaf, irrigation water, fertilizer/manure/compost analysis facility to the farming community/research institutes/firms.

Varieties / Technologies Developed:

As a collaborator, contributed in Amaranthus advanced breeding lines evaluation for nutrient concentration  and three Amaranthus advanced breeding lines Arka Neelachal Ruchitha (IIHR-B-AM8-13-5-2; Amaranthus blitum- Multi cut, light green fleshy stem), Arka Neelachal Vrichitha (IHR-B-AM45-6-2; Amaranthus tricolor- Leaves- green with purple blotch) and Arka Neelachal Bainishi (IIHR-B-AM65-17-3-8 (Amaranthus tricolor- Pink stem) were identified for release at institute level.
