Mr.Dhanjay a progressive farmer of Gopalpura village of Hesaraghatta, Bangalore Rural District used to grow all kind of vegteables (brinjal, chilli, okra, palak, coriander, sweetcorn, baby corn, dolichos and beans) in his two acres field throughtout the year depending upon the season and demand in the market under organic way. Earlier he attended one day training programme on “ICAR-IIHR released vegetable varieties/hybrids and other technologies” at IIHR campus, Bangalore.

China Aster (Callistephus chinensis L.) is a new emerging flower crop. it is cultivated worldwide as an ornamental plant in home garden. ICAR-IIHR identified a China Aster cv. Arka Kamini for high yield. This variety was popularized under IIHR-ICRISAT Bhoo- samrudhi project in four district of Karnataka. Sri- Shivananda, a progressive farmer of Yidagur village of Gowribidanur Taluk of Chikkaballapur District raised half acre of China Aster cv. Arka Kamini at his field during kharif season 2019-20. |10||Success Story of New Yard Long Bean Variety : Arka Mangala||
Mr.Vinoth a progressive farmer of Linganahaali Village, Shivakote Panchayat of Bangalore North District raised one acre of Yard long bean “Arka Mangala” at his field during kharif season 2018. After knowing the performance of this variety, Mr Vinoth visited and interacted with Scientists of IIHR and procured the seeds from vegetable seed counter. He raised nursery for yard long bean and transplanted in the month of July at a distance of 5 x 5 feet. He has followed standard package of practices recommended by ICAR-IIHR.
