The ICAR-IIHR participated in the Curtain raiser event of Golden jubilee celebrations of KVK system in the country held at India’s 1st KVK, Puducherry, Union Territory of Puducherry on 21st February 2024. The launching of the event by the Chief Secretary to Government of Puducherry, followed by Talk on 50 years of KVK system in the service of nation by DDG, (AE), Remarks by guest of Honour, DDG (HS), Vice Chancellors TNAU, RLBCAU and Secretary (Agriculture), Govt/ of Puducherry. During the event 12 IIHR technologies were distributed. The meeting came to an end with vote of thanks by Director, ATARI, Hyderabad.
On 22nd March 2024, ICAR-IIHR received approval to implement project of Tribal welfare Department, government of Tamil Nadu with financial outlay of Rs.385.65 lakhs for three years. The thorough discussions of Dr. S. K. Singh, DDG (HS), ICAR with Honourable Tribal Welfare Minister, Secretary and Director of Tribal Welfare Department, Government of Tamil Nadu, Chennai resulted in approval of Action plan to implement the project. Both programmes were coordinated by Dr.R. Senthil Kumar, Nodal officer, SCSP, Dr. V. Sankar, Nodal officer TSP and Dr.H.P.Sumangala, Principal Scientist and Member SCSP.
