HRD cell of ICAR-IIHR, Bengaluru organized an online training for Skilled Supporting Staff of ICAR-IIHR and its regional stations on the topic “Skill developments in handling pesticides and maintaining Soil and Plant Health” from 18th to 20th March 2021

ICAR-IIHR has organised online  training for  Skilled Supporting Staff of ICAR-IIHR and its regional stations and KVK on the topic “Skill developments in handling pesticides and   maintaining Soil and Plant Health” from 18th to 20th March 2021 (3 Days). Seventeen trainees have participated in this online training.   First day inaugural programme started at 10 am on 18/3/2021.  Dr. V. Sridhar, Co-Nodal Officer, HRD Cell welcomed the participants, resource persons for this online training.   Dr. M.R. Dinesh, Director, ICAR-IIHR  inaugurated the training programme and narrated importance of training for the Skilled Supporting Staff, particularly on the safety aspects of the handling the pesticides.    

  •  Various topics covered during the three days training programme incudes Soil sampling procedure and its importance, plant sampling for nutrient analysis, symptoms and management of nutrient deficiency of both macro and micronutrients, safety precautions in handling pesticides, and maintenance of sprayers and first aid in case of pesticide poisoning.  For the benefit of the participants the lectures were delivered in Hindi and Kannada.    
  •  During the valedictory session on 20th March, 2021 Dr. Acharya gave the report about the three days training.  The participants expressed  that the training was very useful for them and will follow the precautions taught  regarding  handling the pesticides.  The meeting was chaired by Dr. K.S. Shivashankara, Head of the Division of Basic Sciences, ICAR-IIHR.  He expressed happiness over the contents of the training and requested the participants for effective utilisation of training received.
  • The programme ended with vote of thanks by Dr. V. Sridhar.   The training was organised and coordinated by Dr. T.N. Shivananda and Dr. V. Sridhar from HRD unit of ICAR-IIHR, Bengaluru and Dr. Gobinda Chandra Acharya, Senior Scientist and I/c Head, CHES, Bhubaneswar.
