Agricultural Technology Information Centre (ATIC) at ICAR-IIHR, Bengaluru was inaugurated on 24th April 2002. The operations of ATIC started in 2003 and ever since its inception it has been catering to the needs of the farming community in general and horticultural farming community in particular through a single window system to address a series of farm related problems. The ATIC at ICAR-IIHR has been serving as a vital link between the farmers and the scientists for providing solutions to many problems through farmer friendly, eco-friendly and cost effective technologies comprising crop specific micro nutrient formulation for foliar spray, bio-fertilisers, bio-pesticides, fruit fly traps(mango, annona and guava), harvesters (Mango, Sapota and Lime, soil testing for nematode etc.

Services provided by ATIC-IIHR.

  • ATIC has been facilitating interaction of farmers with concerned scientists on Soil health management – INM, soil testing, leaf analysis; Plant health management – IPM, IDM; Pesticide residue analysis; supply of planting materials and seeds besides general cultivation practices for different horticultural crops.
  • ATIC has been selling different technology products (list enclosed)
    • Micronutrient formulations such as Banana Special, Mango Special, Vegetable Special, Citrus Special for enhancing the yield and quality of the respective crops
    • Bio-fertilisers like Arka Microbial Consortium (both in powder and liquid forms), Arka Microbial decomposer and Arka Actino Plus
    • Bio-pesticides like herbal oil soaps such as Neem and Pongamia soaps for controlling sucking pests
    • Fruit fly traps for the control of fruit flies in mango, guava and annona
    • Arka Borer Control Formulations for mango for controlling stem borer
    • Publications (Books, Bulletins, Pocket Diaries, Folders) related to crops, plant health management, soil health management, pesticide residues, physiological disorders and solutions etc. (list enclosed)
    • PHT products like Mango squash, Passion fruit squash, Kokum, Guava and Aonla concentrate, etc. and dry flower mementoes.
    • Fruit Harvesters for mango, sapota and citrus fruits.
  • ATIC has been receiving the visitors – farmers, entrepreneurs, students etc. During 2021-22, about 7466 stakeholders visited ATIC to get solutions to their farm related problems, diagnosis and also to buy the ATIC products. About 3757 telephone queries were answered.
  • ATIC-IIHR generated Rs.142.56 lakh revenue through sale of technology products and publications during 2021-22.
