Research Accomplishments: 

(During the Period of 2019-2023) 

  1. Identified and documented net blight disease of pointed gourd (Trichosanthes dioica) caused by Sclerotium rolfsii first time in India and developed suitable IDM strategies to tackle the disease.
  2. Etiology of collar rot caused by Phytophthora melonis of pointed gourd has been proved and developed suitable IDM management strategies
  3. Documented the occurrence of banana blast and pitting disease caused by Pyricularia angulata in Eastern India and developed suitable integrated management strategies.
  4. Alternate cause of blackening in mango has been proved, causes identified to be sooty blotch fungal complex which is different from blackening caused by sooty mould and developed pre as well as post-harvest management strategies to tackle this emerging problem 
  5. Developed management strategies for the management of powdery mildew and anthracnose diseases of mango under Eastern India condition.
Varieties / Technologies Developed: 

 

  1. Developed 'Arka Mango Wash' technology to remove mango fruit blackening caused by sooty blotch fungal complex.
  2. Associated in developing three white rust resistant varieties in Amaranthus viz., Arka Neelachal Ruchitha, Arka Neelachal Vrichitha and Arka Neelachal Bainishi and one bacterial wilt resistant variety in brinjal Arka Neelachal Yodha
