A new sales outlet of the ICAR-IIHR, Bengaluru was inaugurated at KEB Layout, Sanjay Nagar, Bengaluru on 26.10.2020 by the Dr. G S Prakash Former Head, Division of Fruit Crops and Dr. B Prasannakumar, Former Principal Scientist, Division of Fruit Crops, ICAR-IIHR, Bengaluru. The programme was presided over by Dr. M R Dinesh, Director, ICAR-IIHR, Bengaluru. Besides, Dr M.D. Awasthi, Former Head, Division Soil Science & Agriculture Chemistry, ICAR-IIHR and Dr Rajendra Hegde, Principal Scientist & Incharge Head, ICAR-NBSSLUP Regional Station, Bengaluru also participated the programme. Dr. G S Prakash in his address shared his experiences and lauded the efforts of the Director and Staff of the institute in taking this initiative. Dr. B Prasannakumar, suggested that all the stakeholders to utilize the extension services of ICAR-IIHR. Dr. M R Dinesh in his presidential address highlighted the need of the sales counter and fulfilment of a long-standing demand of the city people. He also suggested that the farmers, city dwellers, homemakers and entrepreneurs can utilize this services and start terrace and kitchen gardens at their premises. All the Heads of the Division, Nodal Officers of various committees and members from RFS, FMC, ATIC, Representatives from sub-stations of ICAR Institutes, UAS (B), Entrepreneurs and Media people attended the programme.
In the beginning Dr. B Narayanaswamy, Principal Scientist & Nodal Officer - Media welcomed the gathering. Dr. T M Gajanana, Principal Scientist and I/c ATIC proposed the vote of thanks.
