A special 2-day (19th at Raichur and 20th at Yadgir March 2021) off-campus training and input distribution programme under SCSP & TSP programmes were organized by ICAR-IIHR, Bengaluru in collaboration with KVKs of aspirational districts Raichur and Yadgir. On 19th morning, an off-campus training was organized on farmer- friendly technologies of ICAR-IIHR by Dr R Senthil Kumar, Principal Scientist, Division of Social sciences and Training, ICAR-IIHR at the premises of KVK, Raichur, wherein more than 80 farmers participated. Dr Kurubar, Head, Department of Horticulture, University of Agricultural Sciences, Raichur delivered a lecture on Profitable Arid zone Horticulture Crops suitable for Raichur region. Seeds/ planting material of IIHR technologies such as Arka Kiran, Arka Prabath, material of Arka Microbial Consortia, and IIHR publications on fruit cultivation, integrated pest management etc., were distributed to the beneficiaries of Raichur district.
On 20th morning, off-campus training cum SCSP & TSP input distribution programme was held at KVK, Kavadimati of Yadgir district, wherein more than 40 farmers participated. The farmers were sensitized on technologies of ICAR-IIHR that have potential for doubling farmers income by Dr R Senthil Kumar, Principal Scientist, Division of Social Sciences and Training, ICAR-IIHR. Seeds/ planting material of IIHR technologies such as Arka Kiran, Arka Prabath, material of Arka Microbial Consortia, and IIHR publications on fruit cultivation, integrated pest management etc., were distributed to the beneficiaries of Yadgir district. In both places, the farmers expressed their interest towards adoption of ICAR-IIHR technologies. The SCSP and TSP input distribution and off-campus training programme was coordinated by Dr G Senthil Kumaran, Principal Scientist and Nodal officer SCSP, Dr D Sreenivasa Murthy, Principal Scientist and Nodal officer, TSP and Dr R Senthil Kumar, Principal Scientist and Nodal officer, Aspirational Districts.
