The 12th Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) Meeting of ICAR-KVK, Hirehalli, Tumakuru was organized on 25th January, 2023 at KVK, Hirehalli, Tumakuru. Dr. Manjunath B.L, Principal Scientist, Division of Fruit Crops, IIHR, Chairman of SAC, Dr.Mallikarjun B.Hanji, Nodal Officer, ATARI, Bengaluru, Dr V.Ramamurthy, Principal Scientist and Head, NBSSLUP, Bengaluru, Dr. K.Giridhar, Principal Scientist, ICAR-NIANP, Bengaluru, Dr. T.Nagesh Kumar, Assistant Director, Sheep Board, Tumakuru, Mr. Raghu B, Deputy Director of Horticulture, Tumakuru, Mr.Ashok T.N. Deputy Director of Agriculture, Tumakuru, Mrs. G. Deepashree, DDA, Madhugiri, Tumakuru, Mr. Vishwanath T.S., DD, Fisheries, Tumakuru, Dr. Shreenivas K.R, Farm Supertindent, ARS, Kunigal, Tumakuru took part in the event. Other FPO Directors, NGO Directors and other Farmers participated in the meeting.
Dr. Manjunath B.L gave the opening remarks, in which he narrated the purpose of SAC. Dr Loganandhan, Principal Scientist and Head, KVK, Hirehalli, presented the action taken report of the last year 11th SAC recommendations along with other activities of progress for the year 2022 and proposed action plan for the year 2023. Later, there was an interaction among the participants, followed by suggestions from them and the experts. Further, all the guests gave their recommendations followed by the concluding remarks from the Chairman.
Earlier, release of a folder on “Improved Production Practices in Drumstick” and a calendar on Millet crops, felicitation of Sri Nanjappa, a progressive farmer from Karemadanahalli, Sira taluk and Distribution of Natural Farming Material to Mr.Kemparaju, Farmer, Chikkadoddavadi, Koratagere from delegates were also arranged.
The event was concluded by vote of thanks followed by National Anthem. About 42 members took part in the programme.
