Research Accomplishments: 

I like to work with plant viruses, I use the techniques of TEM, ELISA, DIBA, Probes, and sequence analysis. I try to over-express the coat proteins and make immuno probes for them. I also like to manage field problems caused by plant viruses and visualize the data I worked from 1993 to 2003 at The Virology Lab, IIHR, Bangalore and at Central Horticultural Experiment Station (CHES) Chettalli, Kodagu, Karnataka from 2003 to 2007. from 2008 I am at The Virology Lab, IIHR, Bangalore . 1. Principal Investigator for the ICAR Adhoc Scheme "Development of Immunodiagnostic Kit for Papaya Ring Spot Virus" (from 1.10.1997 to 30.9.2000 with a budget of Rs 21,24,214.00) 2. Principal Investigator of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, National Agricultural Technology Project, Competitive Grant Project (ICAR/NATP-CGP) “Molecular Beacon Based Diagnosis of Banana Bunchy Top Virus and Banana Bract Mosaic Virus”.(from 1.4.2001 to 31.3.2002 with a budget of Rs 37,12,478.00) Co- principal Investigator 1.National Facility for Virus Diagnosis and Quality Control an ICAR & DBT a nationwide program for testing planting materials for plant viruses especially of fruit crops. 2. Development of Transgenic Papaya Resistant to Papaya Ring Spot Virus, an Indian Council of Agricultural Research, National Agricultural Technology Project, Competitive Grant Project (ICAR/NATP-CGP) 3.Diagnostic approaches and development of management strategies for rejuvenation of Coorg mandarin, a Department of Horticulture, Government of Karnataka funded project.
